Dunning pause & stop reasons

In this section you will define the reasons that dunnng agents will have to specify whenever they change the status of a collection plan to either “Pause” or “Stop” status.

Pause reasons

By default you will find three default Pause reasons with their related description:

As reasons can vary from one organization to another, we encourage you to modify them and/or add new ones to replicate your internal processes.

Stop reasons

As for Pause reasons, we have implemented default Stop reasons:

Again, feel free to modify and/or add new ones.

Dunning statuses and colors

In this section, you define the colors assigned to each status of the dunning collection plan. These colors are used in the Collection Plans view and on the Invoice page when displayed in Invoice mode. Support for Customer mode on the Customer page will be available soon. In this section, you can modify the colors, but you cannot add or delete dunning statuses.

Dunning Agent: Concept, Limitations, and Future Enhancements

Current Implementation

For now, a dummy dunning agent is created to be selected when assigning a manual task to a user. This means that whenever a manual action is configured in a dunning policy, it will be linked to this placeholder agent rather than a real user.

This approach ensures that:

  • The system allows manual tasks to be assigned even without linking to actual users.

  • The manual action assignment remains part of the configuration design, making it flexible for future improvements.

  • A default dunning agent can be set in the configuration, but it will still be replaced by a real user when the collection plan is instantiated.

Limitations of the Current Approach

  • No direct user assignment: Since the dunning agent is currently a placeholder, manual actions do not immediately target a specific user.

  • Lack of user notifications: There is no automated way to notify users when a manual action is assigned.

  • No individual tracking: Users do not have visibility over their assigned actions in a personalized dashboard.

Future Enhancements

The goal in future updates is to:

  • Integrate Dunning Agents with Keycloak → This will enable Opencell to pull all registered users from Keycloak and allow real user selection for manual actions.

  • Assign Manual Actions to Real Users → Instead of using a dummy agent, manual actions will be linked to actual Opencell users, ensuring tasks are properly assigned.

  • Send Email Notifications → Users will receive email alerts when a manual action is assigned to them.

  • User Dashboard for Assigned Actions → Each user will have a dedicated dashboard displaying their assigned manual actions, improving tracking and accountability.

By transitioning from a dummy agent to real user assignments, the dunning process will become more dynamic, transparent, and efficient.
